


Judge Wilder earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He also practiced law with Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith in Lansing and Butzel Long in Detroit. Prior to serving on the appeals court, Judge Wilder served as chief judge of Washtenaw County Circuit Court. He was subsequently elected to the appeals court in 2000, and then re-elected in 2004, 20. Judge Wilder was appointed in 1998 to the Michigan Court of Appeals by former Governor John Engler. Governor Snyder and all of the people of our state can take great pride in this appointment."
